The term "cloud computing is no new anymore, our brain immediately connects to the facilities we have obtained with cloud computing, be it-storage, official IT operations, innovative usage, rampant in absence of computer system or multitasking parallel to multi-users etc. But someway or the other we all are the beneficiaries of cloud computing. As I said, cloud computing is not new to us so is to the world of computers, but in old days or say in the 1950s or late 90s (growing multitudes) it has been serving only as a hosting platform, which it still does for a large number of users. The concept of cloud computing is not new rather what new is-faster and heavier data communication and capability to do so, faster but more reliable computing power(and this reliability is the game of storage in IT world), denser but cheaper storage, new programming paradigm which all can enable, comprehensive computational resource sharing and to become vast, persuasive and economical.

Have you ever wondered that how come your old google searches drop-down in the command box and filter the desired information as soon as you complete the search caption, if a portal asks you to remember the password then where is it saved and pops up immediately on demand, how come so many chunks of information for so many subjects and topics are saved and keep updating on search engines and displayed in no time, when you are uploading an image on any social networking site where does it go provided no storage device you attach and visible again to you in a snap of the finger, even how come this article, you can to read and it can be circulated to everyone willing or authorise to see it in any part of the world, and if stored somewhere, how is it possible to retrieve or access them anytime or anywhere you want? All this happening in the field of computer is not new and was present since ages but why these applications are so popular in nowadays, so much that everyone is connected to the social media, accessing the content of all the places in the world throughout the world and started depending on the tap of search button for any information they are willing to seek? The answer to all these questions is, "Cloud computing". In the world of computers, there is a beautiful place in the "cloud" and this is being mastered with cloud computing. All that has kept on happening with computers in past is happening hugely and quickly in the present and cloud computing is making it possible. All along being speedy cloud computing is also a cost-efficient platform which works by marginal costing, sharing and to rent on demand.

Generally in our phone we take it as a storage space accessible to anywhere we demand but once you look outside of your phone, the world of cloud computing becomes endless and gradually as well as rapidly growing. In fact, then only the cloud storage becomes cloud computing and we get to know that cloud storage is a function of cloud computing but of course, the foundation purpose. Beyond cloud storage, the actual applications of cloud computing can be narrated, which of course, after all the multi-dimensional activities, usage and scopes connect back to the storage. Talking about the functions of cloud computing the things to be added are- platform formation for similar or customized computing environment to decrease the repeated two-way interaction between the end-user and provider, it makes computing, the device friendly by configuring the changes, it develops an infrastructure to support everything falling in certain and different types of computing scenario and not to forget the development of software and their generalization.

The vision of computing utilities based on a service providing model anticipated the massive transformation of the entire computing industry in the 21st century whereby computing services will be readily available on the demand of user and everywhere as other public services naming water, electricity, LPG, telephone etc. and the user will be paying to the service provider when and only when they access computing services adding to standard minimum charges compensated with the specific standard storage space provided by the cloud. Computing access is becoming or has become already a joiner of aforementioned utility services which are used by us but managed by professionals trained for the management of these services. For example, you can not start producing electricity on your own to meet all the needs, store it or keep it safe to use when required because to satisfy the huge and ubiquitous demand of fuel, is not the task of one personal hand, the same is happening with computing utilities as well since they are growing exponentially for everyone. Cloud computing makes possible not only the access to computing services as well as relieve the burden of carrying devices or the worry about the unsecured network. With cloud computing, it is no longer required to invest heavily for computer, computing and its services or encounter the difficulties in building and maintaining complex IT infrastructures. This nothing but provides cost-effective solutions to those customers or consumer organizations which might not have the capital to purchase large enterprise software solutions or set up large computing hardware and software infrastructure.

In distinction of cloud computing, we can add more of its features which can be, firstly- on-demand self-service, that a consumer can unilaterally provision for computer facilities such as- server time, network storage, scalability, agility, infrastructure, web services etc. This service can be availed when needed and also does not require human interaction with the service provider. Secondly- The ubiquitous network access, as the capabilities available over the network and accessed through a standard mechanism that promotes usage by thick or thin of client platforms such as- mobile phones, tablets, laptops, work-stations or a complete network of devices organised or and as well as unorganised. Thirdly- The resource pooling, cloud computing provides and works by sharing the resources available. Despite enormous, never-ending as well as growing resources present on the web, we need and tend to conserve them for best and optimum utilization of the same. in this way providers, computing resources are commingled to serve multiple consumers using multi-tenant model, with various physical and virtual resources dynamically assigned and reassigned according to consumer demand. Next comes- The rapid elasticity, which talks about the capabilities which can be configured in some cases automatically, to scale in response to changing demand about the organization and consumer. The capability available for provisioning often appear to be unlimited and can be acquired at any time. Last but not the least- The measured services, which are the ability of cloud system to automatically control and optimize resources through monitoring, measurement and reporting of cloud attributes such as- storage capacity, processing power, network bandwidth and the number of active user accounts.

With cloud computing the services available to end-users are- computing infrastructure, application development as well as software development combined with faster data access, low-cost storage and availability of reliable computing power. An "On-demand", as well as unlimited frequency for server time and network storage available to the consumer, is a key flexibility that is offered by cloud computing doubled by "Pay(rent) as you use" flexibility. In the end, the best feature of cloud computing can be understood as "The ability to scale on-demand", that says it all.
