Cloud computing is a model for enabling ubiquitous, convenient and on-demand network access to the computing resources. The best feature of cloud computing is its ability to scale on-demand. Cloud computing helps both the user and user provided they are able to access the internet. Few major features of the cloud computing can be understood as follows-
Resource pooling- Sharing of resources for a common idea or computing is resource pooling that is done by cloud computing for maximization of advantages or minimization of risks. Cloud computing does the same under multi-tenant model by assigning and reassigning the resources depending upon the demand and utility of the user. These resources can be Cloud space, network, servers, applications, predesigned platforms, web services etc.
On-demand self service- This facility allows users to monitor computing capabilities, server uptime, allotted network storage, providing services on demand and make them self accessible which is possible by the automation done under cloud computing. It virtualizes the infrastructure so that so many consumers can use them at the same time, this requires a well planned and prepared provider because the user can demand a functioning virtual machine anytime and cloud has to provide that. For this forecast, trend analysis and advance work is done.
Availability- The frequency with which the cloud computing is available to the users is, "On-Demand". It analyses the storage and utility plus also allows a user to purchase resources for any extend of demand on a very low cost. Availability is related with the allowed quantum of data and services but also with the number and the time of access allowed which of course, is expandable and buyable. Availability is calculated by the percentage of time, application and intervals for any services.
Flexibility- Cloud computing allows its users the multidimensional flexibility whether in terms of utility, requirement, demand, accessibility, payment quantum or method. The cloud computing also permits the flexibility of device where the user can handle same things on different devices regardless of variation in configuration. It makes the utility of workplace really vulnerable which can be switched anytime, many times and also there can be no such things but cloud computing will be available everywhere the internet is accessible.
Easy maintenance plus economic- Cloud computing can not afford a downtime and to do this maintenance the updates are done one by one and bugs are fixed. This provides better and faster services which are even more compatible with the device. Maintenance are planned, scheduled, monitored and automated from the web hence easier and cost effective. This system is called- Computerized maintenance management system(CMMS), which allows its staff to retrieve the informations everywhere and function accordingly.
Large network access- The data can be accessed, downloaded from or uploaded to cloud from anywhere by countless users at the same time with the device connected with internet. Because of this facility a large geographical area is covered and so the network channel. Being faster data access a sub constructed feature of cloud computing, this large network is permitted and managed perfectly for all the users.
Measured services- As cloud computing is a multi dimensional service and works with bundles of compounds inside it for a huge number of users which needs to keep track of, in terms of both, the payment and the usage limit allotted. This track is kept attentively by the host but automatised as well. It means that the resources usage that can be either virtual server instances that are running in the cloud are getting monitored, measured and reported by the service provider and also provides transparency for host as well as customer.
Data security on cloud computing- Authentication and identity, access control, encryption, secure deletion, integrity checking, and data masking are all data protection methods that have applicability in cloud computing. It creates a snapshot of the data stored so that the data may not get lost even if one of the servers gets damaged. The data is stored within the storage devices, which cannot be hacked and utilized by any other person. The storage service is quick and reliable.
